Snow Accumulation Is Still Expected

This is Situational Awareness Notice: Winter Weather Advisory for Montgomery County

#006 for the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety. This report applies to the Coastal Storm 12/1 to 12/3.

 Significant event details and developments:

1. A Winter Weather Advisory is in affect for Montgomery County

2. Snow should be lighter, more intermittent and even mixed with rain at times this afternoon in the Philadelphia area

3. By this evening (5-7pm), periods of heavier and steadier snow should spread south and west towards the Greater Philadelphia area. Accumulating snow is expected but amounts will be highly variable ...generally 1-4 inches with higher amounts north/east and lower amounts south/west. At least some travel impacts are likely in this zone by this evening.

4. Snow tapers off west to east overnight and will be out of the region by Tuesday morning.


MCDPS has taken the following actions:

1. MCDPS Staff briefed

2. Situation Report #005 has been distributed

3. WebEOC Incident 11/30/2019 Mont - Coastal Winter Storm 12/1 - 12/2 created - Municipalities should post significant road closures and backlogs to this incident


MCDPS continues to monitor the event and maintains EOC staff at Level IV: Normal Operations.
